Quote from HRCAOnline.org

"HIGHLANDS POINT OVERLOOK
Highlands Point is one of the highest points in Highlands Ranch where you can visit and see some incredible views. HRCA completed an overlook project with a life-size compass that points out various landmarks.

It’s a wonderful place to see great Colorado and local landmarks and get your bearings. There are also new signs along the trail with wildlife photos and other information. You can access the trail from Mountain Vista High School parking lot or from the trailhead on Griggs Road (about a mile south of where the pavement ends)."

We have visited the area several times. In fact we use it frequently for Sunday morning walks with our dog and the baby. The views are incredible out there and the city noise disappears in the distance.

The Backcountry Wilderness Area has a total of 8,200-acres of land. A large percentage of these 8,200 acres is reserved for the wildlife and off-limits for humans.

Outdoor sports activities are also possible at the recreation centers that are operated by the Highlands Ranch Community Association. Outdoor swimming, tennis, baseball and other activities are possible.
